A Blinged up Vase

This is a glass vase that looks like a shopping bag, very cute.  I added a little vinly to bling it up a bit.  The font on "Family" is Shelly Volante BT, you can find it for free here.  For some other Fancy fonts that will cut well, see this post.  The font on "God's Greatest Blessing" is Georgia, I think it is pretty standard in most operating systems.  The beige swirl is from a Doodlebat called Decorum, it is a great dingbat font from Lettering Delights.  You can download it here for $3.  It includes 30 different flourishes, corners and frames.  It is a nice clean dingbat font that cuts well.  Thanks for looking.

Some Wall Vinyl . . . For Me!!

I finally got around to cutting some vinyl for myself today!!  I wanted to put this on the glass of my storm door, but ended up cutting it a litle too big.  It went above the closet in my entryway instead.  See this post for the file.
Thanks for looking.

A Vinyled Mirror

Here is a mirror that I vinyled with this beautiful saying.  Actually the quote is from Mark Twain, but I changed that a bit, I like it in the order I used better.  Leave it to me to change a Mark Twain quote.  LOL.  Thanks for the words of wisdom though Mr. Twain!!  I got the inspiration for this project on the Smart Buy Gal Forum, this post to be exact. Which ironically enough, got the inspiration from another post done by Kathy, the administrator of that site.  Very cool place to be!  Thanks Girls!!

I am donating this to a benefit auction for a great gal who is fighting cancer.  I really liked the way it turned out.  The picture is a little wonky (is that a word?) because I took it from above and you can see both the vinyl and the reflection from the vinyl a bit behind it.  That is what gives it that wonky\blurry look.

I am posting the file here in SCUT2 format.  This is both the saying and the flourish layered in the background.  You can find the words only as an SVG here.  You can find the flourish only as an SVG here.

Vinyl Stencils UPDATED TO ADD FINAL PIC

There was no school on President's Day so I took my daughter and a couple of her friends to a paint your own pottery place.  Very cool business, and the girls love it.  You can pick a piece of unpainted ceramic pottery, paint it yourself, then you leave it there and they fire it for you.  I used my Cricut to cut a vinyl stencil to see how it worked on the unfinished pottery.  I dare say, it worked great.  here are a couple pics.  I will post the finished product once it is fired.  Thanks for looking!!

UPDATE 2/27/11:  Here is the final product.  I am a little disappointed.  I need to go back and try it again when I have more time to let the paint dry so I can do more coats and get an more even look.  I am pleased with the crisp lines, but would have liked to see the paint be more even and darker.  Next time, thanks again for looking!!

Use Glossy Vinyl as Dry Erase Vinyl

I bought a roll of the inexpensive dry erase vinyl at Michael's.  I had been looking for dry erase vinyl and the price was certainly right.  However, I didn't like the way it cut, it weeded terrible, and it was very thin and see-through.  But I am so glad I bought it!!  As I was working with it, it occurred to me that about any high gloss vinyl will work as dry erase vinyl.  The only caveat is most high gloss vinyl has a permanent adhesive on the back that should not be directly applied to a wall.  I used indoor vinyl to layer my outdoor vinyl on top of to make a dry erase board for my daughter's room.  The best part is I can have any color I want!!  Here are some pics.

The glue is drying on a matching vinyl strip that we attached a couple magnets to hang the magnetic dry erase markers.  She loves it!! Thanks for looking!!

Bags

Here are a couple reusabe bags I vinyled recently.  The dark on says "Inside me is a thin person trying to get out.  I keep her sedated with chocolate."  Fonts are Jester and Aquarelle.  The lighter one says "Forget Love, I'd rather fall in chocolate anyday."  Fonts are Art Brush and Aquarelle.  Thanks for looking.

Top O'da Mornin' To Ya!

Here is a cute little guy to get you in the mood for St. Patty's Day.  Just a few weeks until we all have a little Irish in us!!  He cuts and weeds great.  Find the SVG here.

NOTE REGARDING GOOGLE DOCS:
I think they have changed google docs around a bit.  Now when you click on the link above, it will open in a preview window.  Just above the preview and to the left is a file menu.  Pull down the file menu and select "download original."  It will bring up your save window and you are in business.  Not sure if it is a change to google docs or the way I posted this one.  Guess I'll figure that out soon enough!  Thanks!!

Our Little Angel!!

We picked up this shirt with the angel wings already on in the dollar aisle at Target for $1.  We used heat tranfer vinyl and the font AR Decode (see this post) to make sure the world knew he was Macy's little angel!!  (Macy is my daughter!)  AR Decode cut and weeded like a dream.  I highly recomend it for your vinyl projects!!
Here he is sporting his new duds.  His name is Marley and he is a cavachon.  (Cavilier King Charles Spaniel /Bichon cross).  Thanks for looking.

A New Favorite Font

Someone over on the Smart Buy gal forum was talking about a font, AR Decode.  I never heard of it, but someone posted a link to download it, here it is.  It is a beautiful font, and it looks like it'll cut great.  I haven't cut it yet, but if you do, let me know how it cuts.
